Fireside’s History
Fireside Pentecostal Assembly was founded and organized on November 13, 1938, by our late Pastor, Bishop Theophilus A. Sobers and his faithful wife Elder Frederica T. Sobers. It had been prophesied by heads of other churches that the doors would be closed in six months. It’s been 70 years, and the doors are still open. To GOD be the glory! Jesus said, “Upon this rock I will build MY Church and the very gates of hell shall not prevail.” Bishop Sobers and Elder Sobers have both gone on to be in Glory. We are eternally grateful to GOD for their legacy (preaching, teaching, leadership and discipleship building).
Elder Annie Monk served as our Overseer until her passing on August 13, 2009. The Rev. Dr. Charles A. McIntosh serves as Pastor. Elder Monk retired from the Pastorship on September 26, 2006. She passed on the torch to Rev. McIntosh, and he was consecrated and installed on September 2, 2007.
We praise GOD for Fireside’s faithful, dedicated and hard working saints. With GOD leading and guiding us in our endeavors, we continue to work for the LORD and to support and uphold the hands of Pastor Charles A. McIntosh. We will continue to live by the WORD and lift up the name of Jesus.
